For our second workshop of 2023, RIMA invites you to an interactive discussion geared toward the financial success of your company.  Presented by The Zitzmann Group at Morgan Stanley, you will hear from experts in Mergers and Acquisitions, Value Growth Acceleration, Corporate Taxation and strategies for attracting and retaining talented employees.

Leading off the presentation is Pete Perkins from Newport, LLC. He is an Operations & Client Services Professional, with over 20 years experience driving value for Clients and improving sales through a trusted partnership between sales and delivery. Trusted executive with a talent for building and streamlining businesses, improving operations and developing relationships with clients at the highest levels of fortune 500 organizations. Unique combination of business development, line management, executive and consulting experience that creates a trusted advisor relationship with clients.

Next is John Zitzmann. He is a Wealth Advisor, Managing Director and Senior Investment Management Consultant at Morgan Stanley. He began his career as a financial advisor at Prudential Securities in 1992. He joined Dean Witter in 1994 where he served as the research broker to the Ford Foundation. Dean Witter merged with Morgan Stanley in 1997 and John has been with Morgan Stanley ever since. John has received the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) designation from the Investment Management Consultants Association, issued as a result of his studies at the Wharton School of Business. He is a graduate of Bowdoin College. John is the team leader and head of relationship management for his clients. John resides in Barrington, RI with his wife Christine and 3 daughters. He enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, playing tennis, jogging and reading books about history.

Following is Sean Reilly. Sean is an analyst and financial planner. He is a Series 7, 6, 63 and 65 licensed representative. He has worked in the financial services industry for over 10 years. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley he worked as a Premier Client Manager at the Bank of America. In 2007 he earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER designation. This designation is conferred upon individuals who demonstrate a thorough understanding of all aspects of financial planning, including cash flow management, insurance, investments, retirement planning, and estate planning. Sean is a graduate of Fairfield University and he currently lives with his wife Donna and two children in South Kingstown, RI. Sean enjoys playing with his two young children, kayaking, bike riding and rock climbing.

Next is Anthony Deturris. Anthony joined Morgan Stanley in 2019 after 12 years in the financial services industry at Merrill Lynch and JP Morgan. At Morgan Stanley he was responsible for growing the Financial Wellness business from the ground up, helping shape the program and source client relationships. Anthony is an Executive Director at Morgan Stanley at Work. Anthony’s focus is to uncover and solve for client needs across the benefits and financial spectrums. Anthony graduated from Quinnipiac University with a degree in International Business and holds his Series 6, 7, 24, 63, and 66 securities licenses. Anthony is also fully insurance licensed and holds a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC®) designation from the College for Financial Planning. Currently, Anthony resides in Hoboken, New Jersey with his wife, two children, and French Bulldog, Darla.

Then, Jerry Weisman. Jerry has been practicing for over 30 years. He specializes in individual and corporate taxation, business consulting and management advisory services, and estate planning. Jerry is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Master of Science degree in Taxation from Bryant University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Rhode Island Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Estate Planning Council of Rhode Island.

Wrapping things up is Ted Scholhamer. Ted is the founder of Scholhamer Business Law, LLC (SBL). SBL provides corporate counsel to privately held businesses ranging from startups to lower middle market companies, investors, and individuals. SBL guides clients through every stage of the business life cycle from formation to eventual sale and regularly handles complex matters and transactions for them including debt/equity financings; commercial financings; commercial contracts; mergers, sales and business acquisitions; executive and equity compensation; and establishing foreign operations. Prior to founding SBL over 7 years ago, Ted was a partner at a larger firm in Providence. Ted is a graduate of the Taft School, Bowdoin College (where he was captain of the men’s lacrosse team), and New England School of Law. When not working, Ted enjoys spending time with his family, skiing, and playing old man hockey, tennis, and golf – although he doesn’t get to very often.
